The creator economy has never been more interconnected, yet talent agencies still tend to see each other as competitors rather than collaborators.
Working with PR agencies, production companies or legal specialists is standard practice. Working with another talent agency? Much less so.
The hesitation is understandable. An agency’s roster is its business, and no one wants to risk losing a creator relationship. But expecting one agency to be the best at everything is becoming increasingly unrealistic.
Some agencies excel at brand partnerships, others at international expansion, gaming, publishing or live events. As creators build businesses beyond social media, specialist expertise is becoming more valuable than ever.
Other industries have embraced this model for years. Co-management and territory-specific representation are common in music and sport, helping talent access the right opportunities without compromising their core management.
Perhaps the strongest agencies won’t be the ones trying to do everything themselves, but the ones confident enough to collaborate when it benefits their creators.
