Spin Appoints George David as Group Commercial Director

Former Wilderness Head of Growth joins Spin to lead commercial strategy across the agency’s growing portfolio.

Social media agency Spin has announced the appointment of George David as its new Group Commercial Director as the business continues its global expansion.

In the newly created role, George will lead Spin’s commercial strategy, focusing on revenue growth, new business and strengthening client partnerships across the agency’s expanding portfolio.

George joins the business from Wilderness, the social media agency acquired by Havas, where he served as Head of Growth. Prior to that, he was European Business Development Manager at global advertising agency Anomaly. Across both roles, he built a reputation for scaling commercial functions and driving growth within leading creative businesses.

Reporting directly to Spin Co-Founder Max Whicher, George will help shape the commercial direction of the wider group, including social agency Spin, YouTube specialists Be A Bear and production house Tiny Studios.

Speaking on the appointment, Max Whicher said:

“George is exactly the kind of commercial talent we’ve been looking for – someone who doesn’t just understand how to win business, but genuinely gets what brands need from social in 2026. His energy, his experience, and his instincts are a perfect fit for where Spin is headed. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

Max Wilcher, Co-Founder

George David added:

“Spin has built something genuinely special – a team that creates social content people actually want to engage with, and a culture that attracts brilliant creative talent. I’m thrilled to be joining at this stage and can’t wait to get to work helping more brands discover what Spin can do for them.”

The appointment follows a strong period of momentum for the agency, including recent competitive pitch wins for Fortnum & Mason, Five Guys and National Rail, alongside retained partnerships with Paramount, Channel 5 and Instax.

Last year, Spin was named ‘Social Media Agency of the Year’ at the Europe Agency Awards and also received a highly commended recognition at The Drum Awards for Agency of the Year.

As the creator economy and social landscape continue to evolve globally, Spin’s latest senior hire signals further investment into commercial growth and international expansion, with the agency recently launching in the APAC region.
